Chuck Sears

Chuck Sears earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University.  After graduating, he spent eight and a half years on active duty in the Air Force as a pilot with four of those years also working in the air base engineering group.  He remained in the Air Force Reserve for another 13 years.  After leaving active duty, Chuck worked 15 years with Lea County Electric in southeastern New Mexico primarily responsible for system planning, transmission operations, transmission line and substation project development and construction, and system protection project development and construction.  After leaving Lea County Electric, he worked for about two and a half years in Indiana for two different electric cooperatives and then obtained a position as a transmission manager with Denton Municipal Electric (DME).  Chuck spent a total of 21½ years at DME with responsibilities in transmission planning, compliance, project development, design, procurement, construction, and system protection.
